"Tis the season for golds, metallics, and reds!
I love putting together holiday outfits! The festive colors and endless options make it so exciting!
Yesterday, I put together what I consider my first holiday inspired outfit of the season.
I paired a metallic pleated skirt with a gold pleated top, added some gold jewelry, threw on a red coat, and bam! I got an oh so jolly and seasonal look! If you've followed my blog from the beginning, you may start noticing my obsession with pleated skirts. They are so fun and I just love them!
Here are some tips for putting together the perfect holiday look:
1. Pair bold holiday colors with more subtle colors. i.e. red and gold, or green and silver might work better paired than 2 main pieces of red and green
2. Anything gold will do
3. Accessorize- accessories such as jewelry, watches, scarves , and purses go a long way. I am still working on this myself.
4. Sequins are fun but avoid overdoing it. Try not wearing heavy or bold jewelry with an all sequin dress for instance. If wearing bold jewelry, do not wear too much
5. Red lipstick will make almost any outfit stand out. As you can imagine, this holds even truer for the holiday season.
6. If opting for something simple such as a top in a holiday color and black pants, a pair of heels and accessories will make all the difference.
7. Last but not least: A joyful heart and face is the best accessory to any outfit, however fancy it may be.
